North West Hendricks School Corporation

For children who will attend kindergarten at Pittsboro Primary School, registration for the 2017-2018 school year will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the school.

Your child must be 5 by August 1, 2017 to register for Kindergarten.

Full-day Kindergarten

Pittsboro Primary and North Salem Elementary Schools are proud to offer full-day kindergarten for all students. Full-day Kindergarten will be free for all students. This does not include the cost of book rental and lunch. Transportation for full-day students will be provided both to and from school by bus. Students will attend school from 8:00 a.m. -2:30 p.m. each day. This will allow these students to remain with a licensed teacher for the entire school day, participate in specials classes, and more importantly have more time to master the kindergarten curriculum through standards-based curriculum.

AYS: At Your School

AYS provides before and after school care. They are located in one of the classrooms at the Primary School. A representative will be here to answer your questions about before and after school care.

Needed Registration Items:

  • Your child
  • Immunization records
  • Birth certificate
  • Proof of residency in Pittsboro (deed, rental agreement)
  • Any applicable custody papers

For children who will attend kindergarten at North Salem Elementary School, registration for the 2017-18 school year will be held on Wednesday, March 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the school.

Parents, and incoming kindergarten students, who live in Union Township and Eel River Township in Hendricks County should attend the kindergarten registration at North Salem Elementary School. Parents will be filling out registration forms while incoming students will take a short screening test.

Students must be age 5 by Aug. 1 to be eligible for enrollment.

Parents must bring their child, proof of residency such as a rental agreement, deed, or electric bill, the child’s original birth certificate, the child’s current immunization record and custody papers, if applicable.

Registered students will be invited to a “kindergarten meeting” prior to the start of school. At that meeting parents and students will meet the teachers and be given information about programs and procedures for the school year.

Plainfield Community School Corporation

Parents registering kindergartners for Plainfield schools can get most of it done NOW online by clicking here. Then make plans to attend Kindergarten Enrollment on April 5 & 6 at Clarks Creek Elementary School.

Plainfield has just implemented an online registration system that allows parents to complete all the forms via computer. But there are still some items that must be turned in to the schools, in-person.

To celebrate this exciting time in your child’s life, we hold Kindergarten Enrollment, which is a fun and relaxed opportunity to turn in the paperwork, learn about bus transportation, allow your child to climb up on a bus (and you can take a picture!), meet with resources like the library, scouting groups, PTO reps, and local fire and police officials.

Kindergarten Enrollment will be held April 5 & 6 at Clarks Creek Elementary. Regardless of which school your child will attend, the Enrollment fair is held at Clarks Creek, in their gymnasium. Park on the south side of the building and enter Door 5.

On Wednesday, April 5, enrollment will be open from 9 – 2, and again from 4 – 7:30. Then on Thursday, April 6, we’ll be there from 4 – 7:30.
